These heavy glass objects were once mounted / screwed on to electricity and telephone poles across the USA, designed to keep wires separate from their supports.

Now they make an excellent paperweight or talking piece on a shelf in your home! They look rather lovely with light streaming through them, so an LED light or a spot in your window might be the way to go.

There are many collectors of these out there, who will take great pleasure in telling you about the history and manufacturing of these wonderful pieces; we just like the pretty colours and unusual shapes. Some date back as far as the 1850s, but we doubt we have any that old.

This listing is for GRADE B insulators - featuring MANY cracks and chips! These are old and have been used, if you're after a pristine item, these are likely not for you. We love their history and rugged nature. Many of these are over 100 years old, so we'll let them off!
